Are you an inspiring individual who has experience in supporting high-needs students within Education? As a leading West Midlands Further Education College, we are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistants to join us on fixed-term contracts until June 2026 with both full-time and part-time hours available.

Please note that your salary will be calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and the hours worked. The advertised salary reflects the full academic year.

Salary: £24,408 - £28,278 per annum (Pro rata salary to reflect Term Time only - £17,827 – £20,666).

Please also note that this salary will be updated to reflect the new academic year. We will advertise the revised salary accordingly once the updated pay scales are confirmed.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting learners within the classroom, with a strong focus on developing their literacy, language, and numeracy skills. You will work closely with students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring they can access personalised learning opportunities that align with their individual goals. Acting as a central point of contact, you will provide consistent guidance and support to help them navigate their educational journey. Your responsibilities will also include delivering tailored one-to-one support, leading small group sessions to reinforce understanding and build confidence, and providing note-taking assistance to help learners stay fully engaged with their studies.

You will be adaptable, resilient and have a desire to make a lasting difference to the lives of our students. Your classroom and behavioural management skills will be strong and you will have the ability to work with students who have a wide range of emotional and physical needs.

To be successful you must have at least GCSE in English and Maths to grade C or above, or a recognised equivalent qualification (FS L2), and current skill levels at L2 in Literacy, Language and Numeracy. You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 subject qualification and a teaching qualification is preferable in PTLLS or equivalent.
