Overview
Head of Marketing, Brand Development and Engagement — London / Scotland. Reports to: Director of Clients & Markets. Direct Reports: Marketing, Brand Development and Engagement team. Contract Type: Permanent. Hours: Full-Time.
Dentons is at an exciting time in its strategy and a major focus on marketing and business development activity is seen as crucial to its success. This role leads the firm’s marketing strategy, brand positioning, and client engagement initiatives, working closely with the Director of Clients and Markets as part of the department’s senior leadership team to enhance the firm’s reputation among client decision-makers and drive engagement with creativity and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the firm’s marketing programme in alignment with strategic objectives and growth targets.
- Lead brand development initiatives to strengthen the firm’s market position and reputation.
- Oversee client engagement programmes, including events, thought leadership, and digital campaigns.
- Manage and grow the marketing and engagement team, providing leadership, coaching and development.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to inform decisions.
- Ensure brand consistency and compliance across all external and internal communications.
- Oversee the production of relevant collateral.
- Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers as required.
- Set and manage marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and ROI measurement.
- Report on marketing performance and engagement metrics to the Directors of Clients & Markets and other stakeholders.
Key Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in a senior marketing role within a professional services environment, preferably legal or a consultancy/agency working in this space.
- Proven track record in brand development, marketing strategy, and client engagement.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Commercially astute with a data-driven approach to marketing and engagement.
- Experience managing budgets and external suppliers.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field; CIM or similar professional accreditation desirable.
