From industry guidance to national campaigns like English Wine Week and the WineGB Awards, we’re at the heart of the UK’s wine revolution.About the RoleAs Head of Communications and Marketing, you’ll report directly to the CEO and play a central role in shaping and delivering all aspects of WineGB’s communications strategy. You’ll manage a small, growing team and lead on:Strategic communications and campaign planningContent creation across digital, media, and member channelsProactive and reactive media relationsMajor events and public campaignsWebsite, email, and social media contentKey ResponsibilitiesStrategy & LeadershipLead and evolve WineGB’s communications strategy across all channelsManage a small communications team, with potential for future growthCollaborate with the CEO, Board, and industry working groups to align messaging and strategyContent & CampaignsCraft compelling content including press releases, speeches, blog posts, and newslettersOversee campaigns including English Wine Week, the WineGB Awards, and national trade tastingsEnsure consistency of tone and brand across all outputsMedia RelationsBuild and manage strong relationships with UK and international mediaHandle all media engagement, from press briefings to crisis communicationsLead on proactive media planning and response to incoming storiesDigital & OnlineGuide website content and SEO strategy for maximum engagementOversee social media strategy and output (delivered by a team member)Use analytics to refine digital performanceWhat You’ll BringEssentialProven experience in PR, communications, or marketing in the alcohol, wine, or FMCG sectorsOutstanding writing and storytelling skills with a strong eye for detailConfident working at pace. Ability to balance short-term comms needs with long-term strategyExperience leading or managing people and working cross-functionallyA natural collaborator, comfortable engaging with members, media, and industry stakeholdersDesirableStrong knowledge of the UK wine industry (or a genuine passion to dive in)A full UK driving licence and willingness to visit vineyards around the countryWhy join us?This is the chance to shape the voice of a thriving industry at a pivotal time.
