Mercia Group, part of Wilmington plc, are looking for a proactive and creative Digital Marketing Executive ready to take the next step in their marketing career. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in content creation and email marketing, working on high-quality, data-driven campaigns that support client engagement, lead generation, and retention. The role is hybrid, with office-based work in Leicester (LE19 1SU), and is offered on a permanent, part-time basis (four days per week, 30 hours) with a salary up to £23,200 DOE plus excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Content Marketing
    • Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaign priorities and business goals.
    • Produce thought leadership articles, blogs, and educational content optimised for SEO to increase visibility and engagement.
    • Create impactful case studies and whitepapers to support lead generation and demonstrate Mercia's value to clients.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop authoritative, industry-relevant content.
    • Ensure brand tone of voice and messaging are consistent across all written content.
  • Email Marketing
    • Plan, create, and execute integrated email campaigns across various customer segments.
    • Develop and manage lifecycle workflows to support onboarding, retention, cross-sell, and upsell initiatives.
    • Leverage data-driven insights to segment audiences and deliver personalised email communications.
    • Monitor and report on key performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and make recommendations to improve future campaigns.
    • Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and design to maximise campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with the marketing team to align content and email activity with overall marketing plans.
    • Collaborate with sales and other departments to ensure marketing activity supports lead generation and customer engagement objectives.
    • Support internal communications initiatives to engage employees and align them with Mercia's brand strategy.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Previous experience in a marketing role (B2B, B2C, or marketing agency background welcome).
  • A strong interest in content creation and email marketing.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce engaging, audience-focused copy.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A proactive and creative approach, with the confidence to bring new ideas to the team.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • Knowledge of SEO principles and experience creating optimised content.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar).
  • Familiarity with analysing campaign performance data and applying insights to improve results.
