An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking organisation undergoing a major Procurement & Supply Chain transformation. The business is building a high-performing function that partners closely with the wider organisation and delivers real value across cost, innovation, and sustainability.
This role is a key hire within the Waste Disposal category – a critical spend area with a focus on driving commercial results and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities: Own and develop strategic category plans to drive cost reduction, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation across waste and disposal services Lead complex tender processes – from specification development to evaluation and contract award Deliver measurable savings while upholding supplier quality and on-time delivery Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with sustainability targets (including SBTi) Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver category strategies that support corporate objectives Ensure full compliance with procurement governance, reporting, and excellence standards
About You: Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic procurement within a category-led model Proven track record of leading tenders and negotiations involving multiple stakeholders Confident managing large supplier relationships and engaging at account management level Strong commercial acumen and influencing skills within a matrix environment Degree-qualified and CIPS accredited (or working towards)
