What we’re looking for
We’re seeking an experienced client/account manager with a proven track record of delivering success to clients, focusing on retention and upselling. We promote a culture of work-life balance, encouraging staff not to work late, to take time back in lieu if needed, and to participate in a 9-day fortnight work pattern (every other Friday off, paid).
Responsibilities include:
- Building client relationships: Know your clients thoroughly, including financial calendars, business milestones, internal org structures, and even personal details like birthdays and anniversaries.
- Understanding what success looks like for your clients and translating that effectively to your SEO strategists to deliver great results that aid retention and upselling.
- Leading delivery teams: Coordinate all teams to ensure they work towards fulfilling client needs, even if not managing them directly.
- Managing contracts: Keep track of renewal dates, create campaigns around renewals, and work with strategists on upselling opportunities.
- Project Management: Prioritize workloads based on client importance and manage expectations to keep projects within scope.
- Leading direct reports: Manage 1-2 client executives, ensuring they deliver work, are satisfied, and understand their responsibilities. Foster a positive team environment with professional development plans.
Company structure:
Our client/account managers work within a cohesive team of:
- Client/account manager — responsible for client retention and satisfaction
- Project manager — responsible for effective work delivery and profitability
- SEO strategist — responsible for results and setting KPIs
Clients are grouped into pods of up to 10, each led by a client/account manager, with dedicated SEO strategists and executives.
Requirements
Skills required include:
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of growing accounts
- At least 3 years experience as a client/account manager in a digital marketing or SEO agency
- Experience with project management tools (preferably Asana)
- SEO or digital marketing experience
- Experience managing a team
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Calm under pressure
- Ability to juggle multiple clients and deadlines
